Meat Catering for Small Events: What It Really Costs

Small events run on a ₪6,700 minimum. That single number covers any event up to about 23 guests, all-inclusive — cuts, sides, drinks, setup, live cooking and cleanup. A 15-guest birthday, an 18-guest engagement, or a full 20-guest garden party all settle at the same ₪6,700, because below ~23 heads the minimum is what's binding, not a per-guest count.

It reads high for twelve people and fair for twenty — and that's the honest trade-off of a real on-site event. You're not paying for twelve portions of food; you're paying a crew to bring grills, prep stations, premium cuts, dishware and service to your address and cook the whole thing live. The fixed costs of showing up don't shrink just because the guest list is short.

Once you pass roughly 23 guests, the ₪6,700 floor stops binding and you move onto the clean per-guest rate: ₪290 each, all-inclusive. A 30-guest event is 30 × ₪290 = ₪8,700; 40 guests is ₪11,600. There's no per-guest discount to chase — the rate stays the same — but every guest past 23 adds real value, because the fixed ₪6,700 you'd pay anyway is now spread across more plates.

That's the quiet logic of the minimum: the closer a small event gets to ~23 guests, the better the value per head, until it tips over into straightforward per-guest pricing. The smallest on-site event we run is 20 guests. Below 20 the math of bringing a full grill crew to a venue stops making sense as catering — so for an intimate table, from two people up to about a dozen, we offer a private fire chef instead, a separate service that starts at ₪1,900. Same live cooking, scaled to a dinner rather than an event.

If you're hovering right around the line — say 16 to 22 guests — the simplest move is to send the headcount and let us tell you honestly which format fits. Sometimes a 16-person dinner is better served as a private chef evening; a 20-person one is squarely a catered event.

Exactly what a large event gets, just sized down: portable grills, premium cuts cooked to order over live fire, salads, fresh breads, house sauces, serving boards and dishware, setup about 90 minutes before guests arrive, live service, and full cleanup. There's no stripped-down 'small package' that quietly drops the things that make it feel like an event.
